The spirits are beckoning you to join us at The Sweet Botanist for a truly spine-chilling culinary experience. Delve into the Grimm’s Brother Dark Forest Fairytale Feast, featuring six sinister plant based courses catered by The Sweet Botanisr that will transport you to the darkest depths of original fairy tales. Our area, steeped deep in German culture, provides the perfect backdrop for an extraordinary culinary journey that will send shivers down your spine.

  Journey back to 19th-century Germany, a time shrouded in superstitions where witches cast chilling spells, and the Black Forest held secrets of vengeful spirits and shape-shifting creatures. As Jacob and Wilhelm transcribed these eerie narratives, they wielded a cursed quill, inked in ominous brews, and transcribed stories filled with betrayal, curses, and gory retribution. Some believed these stories were inspired by the very spirits of the forest, guiding the Grimms' hands as they etched tales steeped in darkness. Today, the Grimms' stories remain as unsettling classics, preserving an era when folklore and fear intertwined. As we explore their haunting tapestry, we gain a deeper appreciation for the enduring power of these stories, which continue to captivate and haunt us to this day.

Your journey begins with "Little Red Riding Hood's Picnic Basket," a woodland feast that conceals the lurking danger of the cunning wolf. As you delve deeper, sink your teeth into "Snow White's Poisoned Apple Pizza," a treacherous dish where each bite carries the weight of a deathlike slumber. Continue your descent into darkness with "Cinderella's Enchanted Salad," a mirror to her journey, combining dark leafy greens with candied hazelnuts, capturing the essence of beauty and darkness. Then, step into the haunted gingerbread house of "Hansel & Gretel," where breadcrumbs and gingerbread lead to magic and peril.Prepare for the macabre climax with "The Juniper Tree's Step Mother’s Stew," a hearty concoction infused with red wine, served over scratch-made schnitzel-style pasta, mirroring the chilling narrative of ruthless vengeance. Finally, confront the horrors of "The Robber Bridegroom," where a bride-to-be uncovers the darkest secrets and the forest house reveals its terrifying secrets, leading to a suspenseful and shocking revelation.

This spooky season inspired  event offers an immersive dining experience that celebrates the sinister side of Grimm's Fairy Tales, where death, betrayal, and malevolence lurk around every corner. While costumes are encouraged to enhance the atmosphere, please dress appropriately for the outdoor setting, ensuring comfort and safety with jackets, sturdy walking or hiking shoes. Course 1: 

"Little Red Riding Hood's Picnic Basket”

Wolf’s Moon Blue Cheese, Red Riding Hood Gouda (red wine soaked), rosemary “honeycomb”, fresh berries, almond crackers.

Course 3:

 Snow White's Poisoned Apple Pizza

Slices of caramelized brown butter apples, smoky gouda, and shaved apple cider brussel sprouts rest atop a buttery pastry crust, paying homage to the poisoned apple that played a pivotal role in the story.

Course 3: 

Cinderella's Enchanted Salad

Savor Cinderella's Enchanted Salad, a dish that mirrors her journey through its blend of dark leafy greens symbolizing her unwavering resilience. Topped with candied hazelnuts, a nod to the hazel tree's enchantment, and elegantly dressed in a cranberry brown butter vinaigrette adorned with delicate wildflower petals, tangerine zest & a touch of magic dust, this salad captures the essence of beauty and darkness interwoven in the original fairy tale. It's a taste of Cinderella's transformative tale.

Course 5: 

Step Mother’s Stew

Indulge in the Step Mother’s Stew, a hearty creation infused with rich red wine, accompanied by roasted fall vegetables, tender "meat," and confit garlic. All of this is delicately placed over scratch-made schnitzel-style pasta, creating a complex blend of flavors that mirrors the chilling narrative of the Juniper Tree.

Course 6: 

Dark Forest Cake 

A dark and ominous Black Forest cake with cherry compote representing the foreboding atmosphere that envelops the narrative.
